Introduction

Backing up your data is vital and restoring it is equally important if something goes wrong. This tutorial will guide you through the process of restoring a backup in the WHM interface. WHM, or Web Host Manager, is a powerful web application that allows administrative access to the back-end of cPanel. Please follow the steps below to perform a backup restoration in WHM.

Step 1: Log into WHM

To begin, you'll need to log into your WHM account. Open your preferred web browser and navigate to your WHM login page. Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields and click on the Login button.

Step 2: Navigate to the Backup Section

Once you're logged in, you'll be taken to the WHM home screen. On the left side of the screen is the WHM navigation menu. Scroll down until you find the section labeled Backup. Click on it to expand the options.

Step 3: Access the Backup Restoration

Under the Backup section, click on the Backup Restoration option. This will take you to the backup restoration interface.

Step 4: Select a Backup to Restore

You'll now see a list of available backup files. These are the backups that WHM has created of your data. Find the backup you want to restore and click on the Restore button next to it.

Step 5: Confirm the Restoration

A confirmation dialog box will appear, asking if you're sure you want to restore from this backup. Review the details of the backup to ensure it's the correct one, then click on the Yes button to confirm the restoration.

Step 6: Wait for the Restoration to Complete

WHM will now begin restoring your data from the selected backup. This process may take some time, depending on the size of your backup. You'll see a progress bar that indicates how far the restoration has progressed. Once the progress bar reaches 100%, your backup has been successfully restored.

Note on Backup Restoration

Remember, restoring a backup will overwrite your current data. Make sure to confirm the backup file before proceeding with restoration.

Before You Start

Ensure you have a working backup before you begin the restoration process. If anything goes wrong during the restoration, you could potentially lose your data.

Conclusion

Congratulations! You have successfully restored a backup in WHM. Now, you can access your data as it was at the time of the backup. Remember to regularly backup your data to prevent loss in case of any unforeseen circumstances.
