Raw Access Logs

These logs are a valuable resource for managing your website, enabling you to see who has accessed your site, what they did, and when they did it. This tutorial will guide you through the steps to manage your Raw Access Logs in cPanel.
Accessing Raw Access Logs
First, we will go through how to access your Raw Access Logs:
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- Scroll down to the Metrics section and click on the Raw Access icon.
Downloading Raw Access Logs
Once you're in the Raw Access Logs section, you can download your logs:
- Under the Download Current Raw Access Logs section, you'll see a list of your domains.
- Click on the domain name for which you want to download the Raw Access Log.
- The log will download as a .gz file, which you can open with any standard compression tool.
Archiving Raw Access Logs
By default, cPanel will automatically delete your old access logs at the end of each month. However, you can choose to keep a monthly archive of your logs. Here's how:
- In the Raw Access Logs section, scroll down to the Configure Logs section.
- Tick the Archive Logs in your home directory at the end of each stats run checkbox.
- Click Save.
Archiving logs
Archiving logs can quickly use up a lot of disk space, so make sure you have enough space before choosing to archive.
Deleting Raw Access Logs
If you want to delete your old Raw Access Logs, follow these steps:
- In the Raw Access Logs section, scroll down to the Configure Logs section.
- Tick the Remove the previous month's archived logs from your home directory at the end of each month checkbox.
- Click Save.
Deleting logs
Be careful when deleting logs, as they cannot be recovered once deleted.
