Understanding Webalizer's Main Page
Upon opening Webalizer, you will see a list of domains/subdomains in your account. You can view statistics for each by clicking on the magnifying glass icon next to them.
The main page of Webalizer for a selected domain will show a summary of Monthly History and Daily Statistics. Within these, you will see data such as Hits, Files Served, Pages, Visits, Sites, Referrers, Search Strings, and more.
Monthly History
This portion provides an overview of your website's performance over the past year. The data includes:
- Hits: Any request to the server including files, pages, and more.
- Files: The number of files requested from the server (e.g., images, CSS files, JavaScript files, etc.).
- Pages: The number of actual web pages visited.
- Visits: The number of unique visits to your website.
- Sites: Unique IP addresses that have accessed your website.
Daily Statistics
This section gives a daily analysis of the current month's data, providing valuable insight into your website's daily performance.
Other Statistics
As you scroll down, you will find additional statistics like Hourly Statistics, URL's, Referrers, User Agents, and Countries. These provide more granular data about your website's traffic.
Interpreting the Data
Understanding and interpreting these statistics can help you make informed decisions about website improvements, marketing efforts, and more.
Data Accuracy
Keep in mind that while Webalizer provides a wealth of information, it may not capture all traffic data. For example, users with ad blockers may not be tracked.
